Inspired by Gretchen Rubin's book The Happiness Project, I shall hereby document my pilgrimage toward the discovery of true contentment. She's actually extremely methodical and believes that if you take calculated steps to achieve happiness, you can enjoy life THAT much more. In her book, Rubin defined twelve personal commandments through which she sought greater happiness - and it worked. Each month of one year, she focused on one of the commandments, until she had mastered them all.

Here are Gretchen's 12 Commandments:
1) Be Gretchen
2) Let it go
3) Act the way I want to feel
4) Do it now
5) Be polite and fair
6) Enjoy the process
7) Spend out.
8) Identify the problem
9) Lighten up
10) Do what ought to be down
11) No calculation
12) There is only love
So thus I embark on my own happiness project, which I'll seek to chronicle on this blog. Since I'm a Gen Y-er with a very limited attention span, I'm going to try to do what Gretchen did in 12 months in 12 WEEKS. I'm not quite positive what my 12 commandments will be yet, but I can start my laying out my first couple:
1) Get up and go
2) Do things for others
3) Live the way I want to feel
4) Organize
5) Volunteer
.....I'm feeling happier just having made this list!
